Big Ed’s Fishing is open for the season and running fishing charters and walk and wade fly fishing trips. We take our health and the health of our guests very seriously and would like to share with you our plan to continue to operate in a safe manner while providing a top notch fishing experience. In order to operate in a safe manner we are taking the following steps.
– All of our charters this year are private. Your group will be the only customers on our boat.
– Guides will undergo daily symptom screenings, Anyone showing COVID-19 symptoms will be excluded from the workforce for at least 10 days and will be required to be tested within 48 hours.
– We have arranged our departure times so that start and finish times are staggered to avoid groups co-mingling.
– For those needing a life jacket (kids under the age of 12) the life jacket will be washed after each use. We have purchased extra life jackets to allow for the washing and drying and will ensure a clean jacket is available for every person wishing to use one.
– Until further notice, we will not provide automobile transportation.
– Before each trip, the boat, fishing gear, and any common surfaces will be sanitized and wiped down.
– Sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer has been placed on our boats. We encourage you to use these liberally and often.
– Our guides will wear a face covering whenever social distancing guidelines cannot be maintained. Most of us wear them anyway for sun protection and have been for years.
– To minimize contact, please no handshakes or high fives. Instead when we catch a big fish we recommend a group cabbage patch or dougie.
– If a customer is showing symptoms of COVID-19, or has been in contact with someone who has, we ask that you let us know. We will happily refund your deposit, or reschedule after a two week period, and you will earn our absolute respect.
With these practices in place we feel that we can operate safely and provide a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the outdoors safely. If there is anything that we can do as a company to increase your safety and comfort level we are very open to special requests and suggestions.
