11/28/17-Breckenridge Ice fishing season has nearly arrived. We’ve had a warm Fall in the high country at 9017 ft and the Dillon Reservoir is now just starting to show decent ice conditions. Open water can still be found however. The river inlets are starting to ice over. A few of the guides were out over Thanksgiving holiday weekend catching rainbow trout, and checking ice conditions. The Kokanee Salmon have not started running yet which is great news! Kokanee Salmon are amazing fish to catch in the Winter time and get a beautiful red tint to them with that defined hook jaw. Lots of early season action on smaller mepps, swedish pimples of various patterns and classic tube jigs, white or pink in color using some good jigging or popping action. Looking to start ice fishing December 1st. Call for updated conditions 970-389-1720
