With snow in the air and boats on the trailer, at Big Ed’s we have turned our attention to the upcoming winter and Ice Fishing season. People are already booking trips and, one of the most common questions we get is, “What do I wear to go Ice Fishing”?
Fortunately, most of the people coming to Breckenridge, Keystone, or other Colorado Ski Resorts, in winter, come prepared to play in the snow. In reality, what you would wear for a day on the ski hill is not much different than what you would wear for a day out ice fishing. Ski pants on top of a base layer, and a ski jacket are a great start. A pair of warm boots, wool socks, a stocking cap, and gloves will have you staying warm. Keep in mind that while on the mountain you are often thousands of vertical feet from a Lodge. While ice fishing with Big Ed’s, you are never far from a heater and a warm hut!
If you are interested in Ice Fishing but afraid of the cold, fear not, our heated shacks are capable of keeping the coldest weather at bay.
